In all seriousness though, it's time for this weeks Poll Package! To recap, I'm participating in Printopia on Backerkit and the Poll Package is my way of engaging with you. Each week that Printopia runs, I'll be posting four Trivia Challenge questions.



The Poll Packages, which will consist of three videos in total that last between 3 and 10 minutes, will give you the answers to the questions and some background info on my newest book: Blood Lies. At the end of the campaign, if you've backed the project, and you're in the winning team, you'll get a special prize!

And, because I know some individuals have vision, hearing, and/or other impairments, I'll also be posting the transcripts of the videos. Okay. That's all there is! Let's jump into it!

Blood Lies is the companion book to The Brotherhood of Blood, releasing in 2026. I'm really excited to write the stories in it because the characters are really fun and interesting. When deciding which characters to include in the book, I knew for a fact it would be necessary to include the main character, Mihnea "Cel Rau" Tepes, son of Vladimir Tepes.

And, yes, Vladimir Tepes is a fictionalized version of Vlad the Impaler. Though, funnily enough, I just learned that the historical figures name is just Vlad. Who knew?

Another interesting history fact is that when Bram Stoker wrote Dracula, one of the first vampire novels, he used Vlad the Impaler's last name "Dragul." Contrary to popular belief, the name doesn't mean vampire. It means "Dragon" and "Dracula" means son of the Dragon. So, Vlad Dracula means Vlad, son of the Dragon. Cool right?

Speaking of characters, this book won't be featuring our favorite, first vampiress Elizabeth Bathory. If you want a story with her in it, you'll have to hop over to my website and sign up for the newsletter. But, have no fear! Someone just as badass as the Blood Countess will be joining us: Rimi!

Not to be confused with Rumi from my other obsession KPop Demon Hunters--though she may have something in common with that movie--Rimi is one of the most interesting characters I've written. As in, I'm still learning things about her!



For instance, I thought Rimi's name was just Rimi. Turns out it's actually short for Narimina. And, though I couldn't find an official meaning for that name, I'd like to believe it means the same thing as Rimi: Sweet, Loving and Caring, Pretty. Though, to be honest, while Rimi is beautiful, I don't think she has those other qualities. But, we'll see.

🩸So, basically, what this is, is for the next three weeks during the Printopia Campaign on Backerkit, I will be doing four poll questions. And, basically, these videos, these three videos that I'm going to post after this one are going to have the answers of the polls in them. So you're going to want to put on your listening ears--yes, like you're back in first grade--and listen out for the answers.

🩸That said, I do plan on posting the transcript of these videos as an update as well. Um, that way you get both the video and the transcript. And because of how Backerkit is set up, I'll probably be posting a separate update for each poll.



🩸But! I wanted to go ahead and let you guys know that that's what I was doing so that if you feel like you're getting swarmed with emails then you already know what that's all about.

🩸I, uh, the plan is to keep these videos shortened, um, to five minutes or less. Or, actually let me say ten minutes or less because I am a talker as you gusy will learn about me. And, so, yeah. That's, that's really it. That's what the poll package is. And I hope this is something fun that will get you guys engaged with my Backerkit project. And, yeah. Yeah, I think that's really it.
